Arya Gurukul’s Virtual Annual day 2021

Annual Days are the most celebrated and awaited event of a school calendar. Especially at Arya Gurukul, Nandivali, Annual Days are not just a display of a variety of talents but a representation of the immense potential of the youth today, the changing times and the ethos of society at large.

This year was no exception. The Virtual Annual Day event of Arya Gurukul school, Nandivali maintained its grandiose and resonated the spirit of the youth. The carefully chosen theme ‘Break down, Break Through, Break Free’ attempted to urge people to look at our current situation differently and rise above.

Grand viewership of the event-

The program went live at 10.00 am on Sunday, 11th April and had 400 students participate in it. The numbers speak for itself as the YouTube Live streaming got more than 3000 views and remained constant through the course of the event. This indicates how the viewers were enthralled.

Setting the tone for the event-

The program began with a mesmerising performance by the Music students who displayed their skills on unique and rare Indian instruments such as the Daf, Ghungroo, Manjeera, Dafli as well as created music with Glass and Plastic bottles. The presentation was so engaging that it was hard to guess that the students were playing remotely.

The motivating speech by Director, Dr Mrs Neelam Malik reiterated the need to break free from the shackles of fear, doubt and confusion. She stressed “The aim of education is to allow children to think, to assess and to give their views openly and articulately and that is why we are working towards making assessments synonymous with learning and not a consequence of it. I am more than confident that if we continue to carry the attitude of progress that we have displayed so far, we can achieve more successes.”

Principal, Mrs Radhamani Iyer expressed her appreciation for the 800 plus parents and grandparents of the 400 children who participated in the Annual Day event. She spoke of the many new initiatives and vocational subjects that will be introduced in the curriculum in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and the Chinmaya Vision Program.

A parent shared that the speeches made her emotional and motivated her to think that no lockdown can stop us from progressing and that every situation is an opportunity to grow.

Captivating and unique performances-

The audience especially appreciated the Choir group of Arya Gurukul for their performances. Each song they sang struck a chord and it was delightful to watch listeners pouring in their appreciations and comments.

The graceful dancers breathed life into the songs through their performances and created a visual treat for those watching the event.

Stringing the whole event together in an appealing manner were the Comperes. Their confidence, body language and screen presence stumped the viewers. They were so poised and professional in their manner.

The Program ended on an extremely high note with the students singing a heart-warming rendition of the song “Phir Muskaraega India” as well as “Hum Honge Kamiyab” which is a tradition at Arya Gurukul.

A well- deserved celebration of successes-

Moreover, it was awarded by the Times School Survey (4th position in National Curriculum Zone East), Education World (Top 10 Co-Ed Day Schools, Excellence in Blended Learning) and Education Today (Innovative Teaching).
