Arya Gurukul, Ambernath depict the idea of Universal Outlook through their Annual Day

Imagine a stage full of talented, enthusiastic children and an audience filled with eager parents brimming with pride. Such was the atmosphere at Acharya Pralhad Keshav Atre Rangmandi, Kalyan on the 5 April’ 24 as Arya Gurukul, Ambernath celebrated its Annual Day event.

Arya Gurukul school is an activity-based school that places equal emphasis on academics. At this school holistic learning is not merely a textual concept but can be seen and witnessed in every event and in each class, every day. The Annua Day event was no exception and is in effect a culmination of all that the children learn through the year. This fact was emphasized by the Director, Academics, Dr. Neelam Malik. According to her, what children perform on the annual day depicts the many life lessons they receive through the year. Dr. Malik also expressed a heartfelt message to parents to stand by their children and to be with them in their highs and lows, ups and downs- a gentle reminder of a basic parenting requirement. A message on the same lines was delivered by Dr. Kalpana Srivastav, a Clinical Psychologist who concurred that giving time to children is more valuable than anything else.

Speaking on the occasion, Nr. Nilesh Rathor, Principal of Arya Gurukul, Ambernath emphasized that the path to success is always fraught with challenges that can be accomplished by building one’s skills. Arya Gurukul, Ambernath takes LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) approach to learning and this year the school will pay special focus on Reading.

Arya Gurukul is a Chinmaya Mission school and follows the Chinmaya Vision Program and Universal Outlook is one of the pillars of the CVP. As the school depicted The Jungle Book in this event, it reminded us of how the society is codependent on each and every member for its smooth functioning. This idea was stressed by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sanjay Shrivastav, GM Ordinance Factory in his speech. He said that each character of Rudiyard Kipling’s Jungle Book leaves an indelible mark on our minds and depict different qualities of valor and interpersonal skills. It depicts the concept of Vasuadaiva Kutumbakam. He said that although many sectors and professions contribute to the growth of an economy and a nation, that one sector that contributes the most is ‘education’, as it creates a foundation for children to take up different professions.

Speaking of foundation, Arya Gurukul, Ambernath believes that the school Alumni and their accomplishments speak volumes about the school’s performance as a skill- building institution. Present at the event were Mr. Nihal Pandey, Business Consultant & Analyst at Indus Valley Partners, Mr. Meet Bhanushali, Product Manager IDFC Bank and Ms. Aditi Thenge working in the field of Human Resources. Each of the Alumni shared how the school provided many opportunities for them to become confident, capable individuals and discover their strengths.

The show, with all its drama, emceeing, live singing, dances and wonderful stage presence of the children will be remembered for days to come. The hardwork of more than 500 students, not only onstage but even through art installations and other contributions has led this annual day event to a roaring success.
